Starbucks coffee is very popular, so lets look at how much caffeine is in a short cup (8 ounces) of Starbucks coffee. Starbucks brewed coffee has a huge amount of caffeine – 180mg. Most of their other coffee drinks have 50 to 75mg of caffeine and their teas have a little less according to Caffeine Informer website.

How much caffeine is in these energy drinks? Red Bull has 80mg of caffeine in an 8.46 ounce can. Monster, Rockstar and NOS all have 160mg of caffeine in a 16 ounce can. Amp has 142mg of caffeine in a 16 ounce can.

So, how much caffeine is safe?

According to the Mayo Clinic, up to 400mg of caffeine is safe for most healthy adults. That’s as little as two brewed coffees at Starbucks, two and a half of most of the energy drinks, or up to ten Cokes (or nine Diet Cokes).

The big problem with all of these energy drinks is that they all contain a lot of sugar and artificial chemical ingredients.
