Last fall Nikken introduced the latest Nikken magnetic mattress pad, the Kenko Naturest Mattress Topper, and a new magnetic pillow, the Kenko Naturest Custom Pillow.
This new pillow is completely unique as far as I know. It is like a regular pillow because it is stuffed with shredded latex foam and it is like a contoured pillow with the denser foam bar that holds the magnets and supports the neck. It is a "custom" pillow because you can unzip the side and remove some of the latex stuffing to make it softer if you like.
With the introduction of the new magnetic pillow, the old Kenko Dream Pillow has been discontinued.
Radial Axis Magnets
The biggest improvement with the new Nikken pillow, and the mattress pad too, is the magnets. Each magnetic disk contains 6 magnets with their poles all facing in different directions. What that does for you is it provides a more uniform magnetic field that surrounds and helps the body more. If you are familiar with the biaxial magnets from Nikken, these new magnet disks attempt to duplicate the effects of the spinning magnets in a smaller package and without any moving parts.
Magnetic Travel Pillow
Nikken has also introduced a new magnetic travel pillow, a horseshoe-shaped pillow that fits around your neck and supports your head while you are sitting upright. It is also made from the same latex and uses the same new magnets as the new pillow and mattress topper. While hardly a scientific study, I asked a friend who gets a lot of migraine headaches to use the pillow for a few weeks to see if it helped her. She said that she would use the travel pillow when she felt a headache coming on and it seemed to stop the headaches. This is just one person's experience and doesn't mean overyone will have the same results, but it is encouraging and a lot better than taking drugs.
