The Kenko Power Patch magnets are my favorite Nikken item. They are small, easy to apply just about anywhere that you need them, self-adhesive, and inexpensive. Distributors who have been with Nikken longer still talk about the Kenko Mini, a larger, more expensive magnet that you have to figure out how to hold where you want it.

The Nikken Power Patch comes already attached to a self-adhesive disk, like a circle Band-Aid, so it is ready to go straight from the box. For price of 2 Kenko Minis you can get 30 Power Patches. That’s an awesome deal.

Their low price per magnet makes that a great introductory product for people who haven’t experienced the benefits of magnets before and may questions whether they really work or not. I sometimes hear from people who have been told by someone that they should try one of Nikken’s magnetic mattress pads. They come to my website and see how expensive they are and decide not to buy because they aren’t sure that they are going to get their money’s worth. That is perfectly understandable.

If they contact me instead of just leaving then I recommend that they get a couple Kenko Power Patches and experience the benefits of magnets with a minimal investment before making the big investment of a mattress pad. In case you are wondering, I sell them for $2 a piece. Like I said, they are a small investment to prove to yourself that they work.

Here’s a good question that someone asked recently: “Do Nikken products really work?”.

Yes, of course they do. There is one thing to keep in mind though about the Nikken products. They don’t work unless you actually use them. I have actually had customers return product without even opening the package.

Will Nikken Products Work for You?

So how do you know if Nikken’s products are going to work for you or not? There are a few items that have some samples available, like the Jade GreenZymes and CM Cream. Other items are inexpensive enough to try in small quantities, like the Kenko Power Patches. Samples are a great way to try out the products to prove how well they will work for you.

A lot of Nikken’s items are expensive and don’t have samples available, like the bigger magnetic items. If people are concerned about an expensive magnet working for them, I usually recommend that try a less expensive one first. The Kenko Power Patches are great for this too. It is a great way to prove to yourself that Nikken’s magnets are effective then they can feel more assured that the more expensive ones will work too. Sometimes they find out that the less expensive ones will meet their needs and they don’t need the more expensive ones.

I have received a few questions about Nikken magnets lately that I want to take a few minutes to answer.

How to Use Nikken Magnets

The first question is “how to use Nikken magnets?” When I get this question I assume people are talking about the Nikken magnetic patches, like the Kenko Mini, Kenko Flex, or Kenko Power Patches.

The Kenko Mini and Kenko Flex are typically used with the black side against the body and can be used anywhere that you need them and can get them to stay. The Kenko Flex is usually used on the lower back. The Kenko Mini can be used anywhere. I often hear about people placing a Kenko Mini in one their pants pockets or a shirt pocket. That is an easy way to hold them near where you want them.

I find the Kenko Power Patch to be easier to use because they are smaller and come already attached to a self-adhesive disk, like a circle Band-Aid. The bumpy side is intended to go against the skin and works great in most places. The smooth side is probably more comfortable against bone, like at the temples, in which case you can just peel the magnet off the adhesive and flip it over. I also think the Power Patch is a better value because you can get 30 of them for about the same price as 2 Kenko Minis.

How Do I Use My Insoles

Another common question I get is “how do I use my insoles?”

Magsteps first. Brand new they are probably too big to go into your shoes, so cut them down to the right size using a regular pair of scissors. There are faint lines at the toe and heel on the smooth side to show where to cut for your shoe size. The Magsteps are designed to go into your shoes with the bumps facing up toward your feet. If you find the bumps uncomfortable then take them out of your shoes, flip them over so that the smooth side is up, then put them back in. I recommend that you try the bumps again after 6 months or so. I don’t notice the bumps anymore even when I go hiking.

Now the Magstrides. The dark side with the Nikken EQL+FIR logo goes up toward your feet. Like the Magsteps, they will probably be too big for your shoes straight out of the box. The bottom side has the lines showing where to cut for your shoe size. Regular scissors will cut them. The dark surface has a far-infrared ( that’s what FIR stands for ) coating on it that helps to reduce sweating in your shoes.

Which Side on the Skin for Nikken Magnets

This is a common question that I receive about the Nikken magnets and I have already answered it for some of the magnets. More generally, if their is a bumpy side or a darker side, that is the side that goes toward your body. The bumps will be there to shape the magnetic field or to stimulate the skin and muscle, kind of like a passive massage. The darker side is usually dark because it is coated with Nikken’s far-infrared material that will help to regulate temperature to either gently heat the muscle or reduce sweating. Those are some good guidelines to help you out if you see a Nikken magnet that you aren’t sure about.

How many times have you banged some part of your body and thought begrudgingly that tomorrow there would be a mark? And how many times have you looked at some part of your body and wondered where that bruise came from? I know that I have been in both those situations. Not anymore.

Nikken is a well-established company that has been helping the world with magnets since the mid seventies. They have introduced a new product that not only works wonders but it is also completely affordable. The Nikken Power Patch is a revolutionary product that has many applications. Many people know of the effects that magnets have on conditions such as peripheral neuropathy and muscle aches but I came across a new use. I had been using the Power Patches on my neck and shoulders and have friends who have had good results using them for headaches, so I knew they worked.

One afternoon I was sprinting across the garage and caught my leg on the handlebar of a bicycle. As soon as I did it, I had the thought “that’s going to leave a bruise”. Then I had another thought: Nikken Power Patch. I immediately went inside and stuck one right on the spot where my leg banged into the handlebar and left it there for the remainder of the day. The next morning I removed the Power Patch and guess what? No bruise. The area was not even tender to the touch. I was impressed. Now, anytime I bang an elbow or a shin, I head straight to my magnets. I have also had good luck in speeding the healing of small cuts and scratches with the Power Patches after the skin closed.

I’ll tell you another really cool thing about magnets. They work great for kids as well as adults. Anytime our kids fall down or get a bump, they ask for a magnet. And at $2 each, you can have some for the whole family.

Do you have trouble with places that are sore or tight in your shoulders and/or upper back?  In massage we call them knots or trigger points.  If you go to see a massage therapist about this it will probably hurt because we are taught to press on them and hold until the intensity decreases.  It is also hard on the therapist’s thumbs.  It is no fun for either the client or the therapist.

There is a better way. Magnets do wonders for releasing trigger points and there are two magnetic tools that I use when dealing with them.

First are MagBoys. These are small magnetic balls in a holder that I use to roll rapidly over the trigger point for a few minutes. Unlike Trigger Point Therapy, it doesn’t hurt. Actually, it feels really good and the trigger point melts away.

Second are Power Patches.  PowerPatches are small magnetic buttons stuck to a self-adhesive disk that can be placed directly over the trigger point.  It takes longer to relieve the trigger point, but if you put the patch on before going to bed then the discomfort will probably be gone by morning.

I love using magnets when doing massage and taking care of aches and pains.  I find that clients tense up if they feel pain, like in the usual way of dealing with muscle knots, so magnets work much better because there is no additional pain and they promote relaxation.
