A friend asked me recently why I didn’t have more massage therapists working with me to build exposure for Nikken. I’m told that most chiropractors usually have a product they sell, usually a nutritional supplement or something along those lines. Most massage therapists I know rely entirely on their service for income. That just doesn’t make sense to me.
Service-based businesses are severely limited in the amount of income that they can generate. A massage therapist makes somewhere between $15 and $100 per hour in my area depending on if they work for someone or for themselves. Either way, they are limited by the number of hours they can work in a day, and by how many appointments they can get scheduled. It makes sense to have a product to help supplement their income for the times when they aren’t fully booked or want to take some time off (or make only $15 an hour).
Chiropractors have figured that out.
I am a massage therapist and was introduced to Nikken by another massage therapist. In my opinion, Nikken’s products are the perfect match for what massage therapists do. Their magnetic items help a therapist’s clients to sleep better and take care of their issues between sessions. They even make magnetic massage tools for therapists to use during a session, and I do use them on my clients.
The bottom line is that, regardless of what company, massage therapists and other wellness practitioners must to have a product line to strengthen their income stream.

Nikken has launched a new meal replacement shake. The previous shakes have either been based on whey or soy protein and one used sucralose as a sweetener. These all have problems for different people. Some people can’t take whey because it is derived from milk and they have allergies to that. Research is finding that soy isn’t everything that it was supposedly cracked up to be. If you search www.mercola.com for articles about soy, you will find that soy has a lot of potential health risks. These risks include hormone imbalance, memory loss, and increased cancer risk. You can also find several stories about the risks of using sucralose, which you may know by the brand name Splenda, at mercola.com as well.
The new shakes are based on vegetable protein, not soy or whey, and use an organic sweetener, so they don’t have any of the problems that the old shakes had. Like before, the are available in both vanilla and chocolate flavors. A real plus for the new shakes is that, keeping inline with Nikken’s push to go more organic, more of the ingredients come from organic sources. They also qualify as a nutritional supplement because they contain prebiotics and probiotics to help with gastrointestinal health.
All that is great, but the important question is how do they taste? I personally don’t know yet (my shake mix is supposed to ship to me tomorrow). I have heard that they taste great, even better than the previous shakes. If you are someone who has an allergy to any of the ingredients in the previous shakes, then you now should have a viable option for meal replacement.
Even better than anything I can say about them, try them for yourself and let me know what you think.
