I just finished adding new pages to my website for each of Nikken’s new Vital packs and I am amazed at how much savings they offer. I write a new post about green barley grass powder every Spring, actually every Spring allergy season. The reason is that green barley grass is the BEST thing that I have found for dealing with my pollen allergies.

When I was younger I used to take one drug after another for my pollen allergies. I would take one noxious chemical for a few years until it no longer worked then I’d have to switch over to something else. I think by the time I was 13 I quit taking anything at all and just dealt with it. I would be miserable for a few weeks then it would be over.

The bottom line for my family is that Ciaga^V could taste a little better, but it is so high in antioxidants that it is worth getting used to the flavor.

All of the hype from Nikken leading up to receiving my first bottle was that the taste was much better and that kids love it. I don’t know who’s kids they were talking to but mine prefer the old Ciaga which was much sweeter.

Fortunately, the flavor is very weak and easily covered up with something stronger like orange juice or apple juice, so that is how my kids take it. Ciaga^V‘s color is strong so it definitely affects the color of orange juice, though not as noticably in apple juice.

My wife and I continue to drink it with our teaspoon of Jade GreenZymes stirred in and some PiMag water added to make enough to wash down the rest of our nutritional supplements. We had to get used to the taste of the old Ciaga, so we are getting used to the taste of the new as well.

Like I said before, the nutritional benefits of Ciaga^V are so extraordinary that it is worth getting used to the flavor.

Another thing that people often complain about with Ciaga^V is the price. The retail price for 2 bottles, 64 ounces total, is $99 US. The way it was explained to me was, go to the grocery store and try to buy these berries. Berries in general are expensive – blueberries, blackberrries, raspberries, if you can even find them. I have never seen three of the berries in Ciaga^V – maqui berry, acai berry, and elderberry – in a store before. I recently had someone contact me looking for the price of Nikken’s Jade GreenZymes barley grass for her cat. That got me curious.

She has a cat that was having recurring eye infections and was eventually diagnosed with a virus that affects its immune system. The vet prescribed medication for the infection and also prescribed Jade GreenZymes and Immunity to boost the cat’s immune system. I found that fascinating.

Here’s a good question that someone asked recently: “Do Nikken products really work?”.

Yes, of course they do. There is one thing to keep in mind though about the Nikken products. They don’t work unless you actually use them. I have actually had customers return product without even opening the package.

Will Nikken Products Work for You?

So how do you know if Nikken’s products are going to work for you or not? There are a few items that have some samples available, like the Jade GreenZymes and CM Cream. Other items are inexpensive enough to try in small quantities, like the Kenko Power Patches. Samples are a great way to try out the products to prove how well they will work for you.

A lot of Nikken’s items are expensive and don’t have samples available, like the bigger magnetic items. If people are concerned about an expensive magnet working for them, I usually recommend that try a less expensive one first. The Kenko Power Patches are great for this too. It is a great way to prove to yourself that Nikken’s magnets are effective then they can feel more assured that the more expensive ones will work too. Sometimes they find out that the less expensive ones will meet their needs and they don’t need the more expensive ones.

I have pollen allergies, always have and probably always will.

It is finally Spring here and the temperatures have warmed up significantly. We have had our windows open all day and all night for the past 4 days or so to take advantage of the nice weather. I don’t know why, but right after lunch today I came back to my desk and my pollen allergies hit hard. The whole burning, itching eyes thing.

I wrote a blog post before, probably this time last year, about how barley grass helps me manage my allergies. Well, I haven’t been the best at keeping up with taking my nutritional supplements, so my body was unprepared to handle the pollen today. I went ahead and took some of my Jade GreenZymes and promised myself that I would start taking it 3 times a day for the next couple months until the pollen has passed for the most part.

After drinking it down I was pleasantly surprised to find the the itching started to subside within a few minutes and was pretty much gone after about 30 minutes.

I refuse to let my allergies slow me down, so I’m glad that I have something to take care of it that doesn’t require a prescription. Obviously I cannot promise that everyone will have the same results, but since the stuff is food and not a drug, it probably won’t hurt to try.

Have you tried barley grass to handle your allergies?

I have had pollen allergies since I was just a year old and they got worse when I moved to Georgia, where the pollen is so thick in the Spring that everything turns a yellow-green color.  I quit taking any medication for my allergies when I was still young because every couple years I had to switch to something else as my body adapted to the medication and it became ineffective.  I have found that taking Nikken’s Jade GreenZymes barley grass supplement three times a day during pollen season almost completely takes care of it.  I have gone from having sinus congestion that lasts about 9 months a year to having clear sinuses all but maybe a few days a year.  It has been amazing.

Have you had your nutritional supplements today?

There are a lot of wellness companies that promote nutritional products.  You probably know at least a few that sell some kind of juice, such as Monavie or Xango.  The problem with these companies in my opinion is that is all they sell, just one product.  Nikken has a fairly wide selection of nutritional supplements that target very specific areas, such as liver support, bone density, or immunity.

I want to talk about three of Nikken’s core nutritional products, Ciaga (a high antioxidant juice),  Jade GreenZymes (young green barley grass powder), and Immunity (a blend of 14 mushrooms with immunity boosting properties) and the effect they have had on my kids.

I have 2 young kids who are very healthy and almost never get sick, even during flu season.  They don’t get flu shots and are in preschool with other kids who seem to be sick all the time.  If they do get a little sick it is only a minor fever and congestion that lasts only a day or so.  I credit that to Nikken’s nutritional products, namely Ciaga juice, Jade Greenzymes barley grass, and the Immunity supplement.

For them we mix their nutritionals together into a “cocktail” that they seem to love.  It doesn’t take much, just an ounce of Ciaga, a teaspoon of barley grass, and the powder from one Immunity capsule stirred together with a little water.  My son will even run his finger around the inside of the cup to get the last drops out.  We do this once a day and it does a great job of keeping them healthy.
