I was searching through PubMed for any studies on cetyl myristoleate and found this one: Effect of a Cetylated Fatty Acid Topical Cream on Functional Mobility and Quality of Life on Patients with Osteoarthritis.

You can read the whole thing at the link above, so to summarize, they did a study on 40 people where half used a cetylated fatty acid topical cream and the other half used a placebo. They recorded a number of baseline measurements before application, then again after 30 minutes (T2) and after 30 days of regular use (T3). They found that at T2 and T3 the people using the cream were able to function significantly better than the people using the placebo. The cream was applied to the knees and the test included range of motion, time it took to get up from a chair and climb stairs, medial step down, and unilateral anterior reach. The people using the cream improved in all of these tests better than the placebo group.

Cetyl myristoleate is a cetylated version of myristoleic acid, one of the omega 5 fatty acids.

OK, so it isn’t really all that clever but it does sound better than the Bergisterol I wrote about last time, and you don’t have to drink this. I have heard of some amazing results from using CM Cream, from relieving sunburns because of it hydrating ability to relieving joint pain like in the trial I mentioned above. Nikken has a new organic skin care line called True Elements. The previous line was call Swiss SoFlower and my wife really liked it, so she has been content to use up what she had before getting the new skin care products. Now that she is using them she likes them even more than the previous line.

The line consists of six products: a face wash, toner, day cream, night cream, exfoliating masque, and contour serum that are all certified organic by EcoCert.
