It’s Fall and for most people in the US October is about apple cider and carving pumpkins. For us Nikken distributors it also means that it is time for Nikken’s annual convention and the new Nikken products that are introduced there every year. The convention was this past weekend.

Before I get into the new items though, there is something that goes with new items that I want to talk about. To make room for new items in the warehouse Nikken has to discontinue some older ones. This year there were three product lines that were discontinued. Two of them were a surprise to me.

The biggest surprise was that Nikken discontinued the complete line of Elastomag magnetic support wraps. These have been very popular items for a long time and I have had several customers who absolutely depend on them when a part of their body doesn’t feel 100%. It was announced back at the beginning of September that the Elastomag wraps would be discontinued on October 1.

I assumed that there would be something new announced at the convention to replace them. There wasn’t. The magnetic support wraps are being dropped completely, at least for now. Some of the wraps have already sold out. At the time that I am writing this, there are still several in stock, including the magnetic knee wrap and the magnetic elbow wrap. If you are interested in any of them, I am offering a 15% discount until the end of this month. I suggest you hurry before they are gone. You can see the remaining magnetic wraps and get the discount code here.

The second items to be discontinued are the Aqua Pour gravity water filter and the Aqua Pour Deluxe. When I heard this, also in early September, I was pretty sure there was something coming to replace it. Nikken invested a lot of time and money in the new filtration technology for the PiMag sport water bottle that came out in July and it was a safe bet that they weren’t going to just leave it there. More about that later.

The Aqua Pour is a very popular water filtration system and now that it has been discontinued, I’m sure there are many people who are worried that they won’t be able to get replacement parts. There shouldn’t be anything to worry about. From what I have seen, Nikken typically keeps replacement parts in stock for 5 or 6 years after the item has been discontinued.

With that said, I feel confident that the Aqua Pour is still a good investment, especially at 15% off the retail price. Find out more about the Aqua Pour and the discount code here.

The third items that have been discontinued are the metal link magnetic necklaces. My guess, and it is only a guess, is that they haven’t been selling well enough to keep carrying them. I think most people either want the less expensive PowerBands, or for women, the slightly more expensive and nicer looking women’s necklace. Regardless, I still like this simple magnetic necklace and they are all 15% off through the end of the month too.

Now for the new items. I will only list them quickly here then go into more detail in a new post.

PiMag Waterfall – a new gravity water filter that replaces the Aqua Pour.

KenkoLight II – an enhanced version of the full-spectrum desk lamp that was introduced last year.

PowerChips – a new magnetic disk that will replace the Kenko Mini and Super Mini.

PowerBands in neon green – a new color to expand the PowerBand sport necklace and bracelet line.

The PiMag Waterfall and KenkoLight II are both available now as part of the Vital Environment Pack. Everything will probably be available individually by the middle of November.

Stay tuned for more information about the new Nikken products.

Nikken’s annual North American convention is coming up on October 15, less than a month from now. You may be thinking, “So what! Why should I care?” Well, let me tell you why you care.

The convention means that new products are coming.

With new products coming, something has to be discontinued to make room.

I’m giving you 15% off on the items that are about to be discontinued.

This year Nikken is discontinuing some pretty popular items, the Aqua Pour and Aqua Pour Deluxe water filtration systems, the Elastomag magnetic support wraps, and the magnetic chain necklaces. They will be officially discontinued on October 1, 2011 and available to order by phone while supplies last.

PiMag Aqua Pour and Aqua Pour Deluxe

The Aqua Pour is the extremely popular free-standing gravity water filter and the Aqua Pour Deluxe is the version of the Aqua Pour that sits on a water cooler base. It is Nikken’s lowest cost water filter and pays for itself versus bottled water in a very short time.

Why would you want to buy a water filtration system that has been discontinued? There are several reasons really. For one, I’m not sure what is coming to replace it. I think it is safe to say that there is something coming at the convention and, based on the water bottle that was introduced in July, it should be the best water filtration system that Nikken has ever launched. With that said, the price on the new item will probably be higher than the price on the Aqua Pour.

The biggest concern with buying an Aqua Pour now is how long Nikken will provide the replacement parts. I heard someone say that Nikken’s policy is to support discontinued items for 6 years. I haven’t seen that in writing but my experience is that everything that has been discontinued since I started has been supported for at least 5 years. Assuming that I am still here in another 5 years, I will let you know when I find out that they are discontinuing the replacement parts so that you can stock up.

And there is that 15% discount I mentioned.

Elastomag Magnetic Support Wraps

The Elastomag support wraps are also scheduled to go on October 1. In the three and a half years that I have been online more people have ordered Elastomag wraps from my website than any other item except for the Aqua Pour replacement parts.

The other magnetic wraps that I have seen available online specify a number of magnets that they have in their wrap, which means that they don’t have complete magnetic coverage. The Elastomag wraps are different. The material of the wrap itself is magnetic, so you can’t really specify a number of magnets and you have complete magnetic coverage. If you could count the magnets, it would be more than what the others offer. Add on to that the gentle warming effect of the far-infrared material that is also in these wraps and you have something really good.

Again, why order them if they are discontinued? The answer is because I have no idea what is coming. These wraps are very popular, so I would assume that there is something coming to take their place, but I don’t know what that might be. That and the fact that I don’t recall ever seeing the price of new items to be less than the price of the earlier item.

And don’t forget that 15% discount.

Magnetic Necklaces

Finally, there are the magnetic necklaces. These are simple magnetic link necklaces in gold and white gold. To be honest, I’m guessing that these are being discontinued because more people are buying the PowerBand necklaces instead. While these necklaces have more magnets, the PowerBands have far-infrared and negative ion technologies in addition to the magnets. That makes them much more effective at promoting relaxation.

The only reason to get one of these chain necklaces is if you want something a little more subtle and a lot more classy looking. There may be a replacement coming at the convention but I’m not betting on it.

One More Thing

I have put the 15% discount codes at the tops of the pages with the discontinued items. You can get to the items and the codes by clicking the links or the pictures above where I talked about each of the items.

I’m going to let you in on one more little secret only for the people who have read all the way through this page. I cannot put a discount code on a single item. I can only set a percentage, a start date, and an end date. That means that you can use any discount code you see on this website for everything you order regardless of whether you order the “discounted item” or not. The percentage is 15% and the end date is October 1, the day the items get discontinued.

I was asked a few days ago how to deal with sciatic pain. Before talking about how to deal with it, I think it is important to know what sciatic pain is and what can cause it.

The sciatic nerve comes out of the lower spine and as you can see in this picture, it passes through the pelvis beneath the piriformus muscle. Sciatic pain is caused when the sciatic nerve gets pinched, usually by inflammation or adhesions in the piriformus muscle.

The person who asked me about sciatic pain said her pain usually comes when he has been running hard, so her discomfort is probably caused by a tight piriformus muscle and can probably be handled with better stretching before and after her run. I found a great video of how to properly stretch out the piriformus on YouTube.

I believe that this stretch will also greatly benefit people who have chronic sciatic pain. If this is you, please keep in mind that your discomfort wasn’t created in just one day, so it will probably take more than five or ten minutes of stretching to get rid of it.

If I was having to deal with this sciatic pain on a continuing basis then I would have to find something else to help me get through. For me, that would be a weekly massage to work on the piriformus and some magnets to get me through the days in between. Probably the easiest form of magnet to use would be a magnetic chair pad for when you are sitting and a magnetic mattress pad for when you are laying down.

I hope that helps.

Wayne Woodworth

Disclaimer: I am a massage therapist, not a doctor. These are my opinions of how to work with sciatic pain based on my training as a massage therapist. If you believe that you may have a medical condition then I strongly encourage you to see a trained medical professional.

Have you ever had a magnetic massage before?

Let’s start with a regular massage, maybe a Swedish massage. It is very relaxing and maybe, if you allow yourself, you fall asleep on the table. They make for a great relief from stress and can help with blood and lymph flow. While those are great benefits, they are really short-lived for the most part.

To get real benefit from a massage you want to get a therapeutic massage, like neuro-muscular therapy (NMT) or a deep tissue massage. If you received a good massage then you feel like you have been worked over. You might even feel sore afterwards. As the client, you may not realize that your therapist feels pretty worked over too. If they aren’t careful, they risk injuring their thumbs or wrists every time they do one of these massages.

What if you could get the benefits of the deep tissue massage and feel like you had a nice relaxation massage? That is what a good magnetic massage can do for you.

What is a Magnetic Massage?

When you get a magnetic massage you will be laying on a magnetic pad that should be more comfortable then laying directly on the massage table. The blanket on top of you will also have magnets so that you are wrapped in a magnetic cocoon. The massage hasn’t started yet and you are already receiving benefits from the magnetic field surrounding you.

During the massage, the massage therapist will use a variety of magnetic massage tools. My favorite is a magnetic roller that rolls up and down the back bridging over the spine. The roller itself can target the erector muscles that run along the spine and are largely responsible for our posture. The magnets in the roller affect everything in the area including the erector muscles, the spinal cord, and the energy meridians that run along the spine.

The therapist can then use smaller rollers or magnetic balls to work individual muscle groups giving the traditional effects of massage from the balls in contact with the skin and working into the muscles along with the energetic effects of the magnets.

What are the Benefits of Magnetic Massage?

Hopefully you already understand the energetic benefits of using magnets on the body and how they affect energy flow and relaxation. What you may not know is that a spinning magnet creates a much bigger magnetic field that a stationary magnet. If you hold a magnet still and try to detect its magnetic field, you find find it up to an inch or so away from the magnet. When you take that same magnet and spin it about an axis, you will be able to detect it several inches away. In other words, that spinning magnet will send magnetic energy much deeper into, and even through, the body.

So the benefits of a magnetic massage for you as a client is that the massage therapist can affect muscles much deeper than they could otherwise reach. Now a deep tissue massage doesn’t have to hurt and you come out much more relaxed.

The massage therapist benefits too because they don’t have to risk injuring themselves to reach those deep muscles.

The next time that you want a massage, get a magnetic massage and see for yourself.

I started playing with the Emotion Code again a couple days ago and have been having success with it. The key was learning how to get one of the other forms of muscle testing to work for me.

I will record a video of how to do it if I can, so for now I will try to explain the muscle testing in words the best I can. Have your subject pick one hand and make a circle by placing the tip of their index finger to the tip of their thumb. They want to try to keep the ring whole while you test them. You ask a question then pull on their index finger to pull their ring open. If the ring stays whole, they test strong, then the answer is “yes”. If their ring pulls open, they test weak, then the answer is “no”.

I like this form of the muscle test because I can do it fast and I can do it on myself, so I can work on my own trapped emotions.

I started working on my heart wall yesterday. A heart wall is an energetic wall around your heart made of trapped emotions. The purpose is to protect your heart from other emotional wounding but can also keep your heart disengaged.

The cool thing about heart walls is that your subconscious assigns a particular material to them and gives them a thickness. For example, through muscle testing I found out that mine is made of steel and was 100 feet thick before I started working on it. So my subconscious says that there is a 100 foot thick wall of steel surrounding my heart. I released seven trapped emotions from it yesterday and reduced it down to 93 feet thick. I hope that it doesn’t remain at a ratio of 1 emotion to 1 foot of heart wall the whole way.

Some people have trouble accepting the idea of muscle testing. They think that, especially when doing it on yourself, that you are in control of the answers you get. Of course you can manipulate the results, but if you keep an open mind I believe that you get true answers. The proof for me is when I’m expecting a “yes” answer and I get a “no”, or I’m expecting a “no” and get a “yes”. Some of the emotions that I have released so far have been completely unexpected. I have no idea where trapped emotions of despair or heartache could have come from in my life.

The cool thing about the Emotion Code is that I don’t have to know where they came from or when they happened. I just use the process to identify the trapped emotion, roll my Magboy over the top of my head, and the muscle test again to make sure that it has been released. That’s it. Sometimes I feel something being lifted away when I roll the Magboy, other times I don’t. Either way, it doesn’t matter because the emotion is released.

You can learn the Emotion Code from reading the book or, better yet, learn it by attending one of Dr. Bradley Nelson’s seminars. You can find the book and the Emotion Code Seminar schedule here.

If you are using the Emotion Code and would be willing to share some of your experiences, I would love to read them in a comment below.

I stumbled upon this clinical study a while back that shows how a magnetic pillow, magnetic bracelet, and magnetic insoles can help improve quality of sleep for people who suffer from insomnia. To prove it was a legitimate study I searched for and found it on PubMed. You can see the abstract on PubMed here.

Click here for the full study document.

The study showed that by using a magnetic pillow, people who had trouble either getting to sleep in first place, or staying asleep for very long, could get benefit from using a magnetic pillow, and possibly even better results if they also used magnetic insoles and / or a magnetic bracelet.

It is important to note that this study was a preliminary with a small number of people and no placebo control. I am sure that any follow-up studies will address these criteria.

This study is also dated to some degree because it uses the previous versions of the Nikken pillow and TriPhase bracelet. I would be very curious to see how much better the results would be if they used the current Naturest pillow with its more powerful magnets. And if they could get these results with just a pillow, insoles, and bracelet, just think what kind of results they could get with the mattress pad, or better yet, the whole magnetic sleep system.

I admit that I didn’t have any sleep issues before I started my adventure with Nikken. With my sleep system (which is a magnetic mattress pad, comforter, and pillow) I am almost asleep before my head touches the pillow. Even on nights when I have difficulty getting to sleep it is only a few minutes.

Here are links to the currently available versions of the items used in the study.

I just finished adding new pages to my website for each of Nikken’s new Vital packs and I am amazed at how much savings they offer. They are all priced at 20% off the full retail price of the individual items that make up each pack and the biggest deal is what you get when you combine the Vital Day Pack with the Vital Sleep Pack, which I will get into in a moment.

First, I want to introduce each of the packs.

The Vital Day Pack contains some essential items to help you get through your day, like a KenkoSeat to keep you comfortable while driving or sitting at your desk, a medium pair of Magsteps to help out while on your feet, and CiagaV and Jade GreenZymes from the whole food organic nutritional line, two of Nikken’s most beneficial nutritional supplements. There are a handful of other items as well, plus a 40% off coupon for the Vital Sleep Pack. Again, more on that in a moment.

The next pack is the Vital Sleep Pack. It isn’t actually priced at a discount by itself, but bear with me a moment and I will show you how it is actually the best deal that Nikken has ever offered. This pack contains your choice in size of Naturest magnetic mattress pad and the matching size of Kenko Dream or Dream Light comforter. It also includes one or two Naturest magnetic pillows depending the size pad that you choose.

The third pack is the Vital Environment Pack. This pack contains the items you need to address the environment in your home and is made up of the Aqua Pour, Air Wellness Power5 Pro, an Ultra Shower filter, and 2 KenkoLights. It essentially brings as much of the outdoors indoors as is possible, and the outdoors is a large part of what we need to be healthy.

The fourth and final pack is the Vital On-The-Go Travel Pack. It is essentially what the traditional off-line distributors called the Demo Pack. It is a demo-sized Natrurest mattress pad (sized to fit a massage table), twin light comforter, Naturest magnetic pillow, a Magboy, and a MagCreator. Now it also includes the Naturest magnetic travel pillow. If you are used to sleeping in the comfort of a Nikken magnetic sleep system, this is the smaller version that you can take with you when you travel. Or, speaking as a massage therapist, this is the perfect portable magnetic massage kit.

Ok, so how is the Vital Sleep Pack the best deal when it is the only pack that isn’t actually discounted off the regular price? As I said, the Vital Day Pack contains a 40% off coupon for the Vital Sleep Pack. From my experience, the most commonly purchased size of Naturest pad is the queen, so I will lay this out using the price of a queen pack.

You purchase the Vital Day Pack for $599. Yes, this may seem expensive at first but remember that it is 20% off the retail price of the individual items, and I’m about to show you that the price really doesn’t matter. Along with the items in the pack you receive a coupon for 40% off the price of a Vital Sleep Pack. The queen pack price is currently $2140. Your coupon for 40% off saves you $856. When you add in the price you paid for the Vital Day Pack you still save $257 versus the regular price of a queen sleep pack and you have a lot of additional product that you will receive significant benefits from.

There is one qualification to this offer. You only have 30 days from the day you create your account with Nikken to take advantage of the 40% off coupon. If you have never ordered from Nikken before then you are good to go. If you have ordered before then send me a message (leave me a comment below or using my contact page) and we will figure out how you can take advantage of this offer. I have been a distributor for 5 years so I don’t qualify for it. If I didn’t already have all of this myself then my parents would be ordering this for me, if you catch my drift.

I have worn glasses and contact lenses since I was about 7 years old. I turn 40 next month, so that makes it about 33 years. Eye doctors have told me that I may be a good candidate for surgery to correct my vision but I always decline because I don’t feel that it is worth the risk of infection, worsening my vision, or halos while driving at night, all possible outcomes of the surgery.

Lately I have been read a lot of things from multiple sources that say we can improve our eyesight without surgery and reduce our need on glasses and contact lenses. Our poor eyesight is a cumulative effect of eyestrain (tight muscles around the eye not letting it focus properly), diet, and a lot of other things.

I want to focus on the eyestrain / muscle tension and weakness part of it. I am a massage therapist, so I understand how this could be a factor. When you have stiffness and pain in your neck or shoulder from muscle strain then those muscles don’t function properly and you can’t turn your head like you could when everything is working properly. The same thing makes sense for your eyes too. If the muscles in and around your eyes are strained and tense then they cannot move the eye or shape the lens in the eye as they should. In this case it creates an out-of-focus picture on the retina that is then transfered to the brain and perceived as near-sightedness or far-sightedness.

When I have issues like this in my shoulder or anywhere else I can get a massage from my wife and apply magnets. So, since eye problems may be largely muscular problems, it stands to reason that a magnetic sleep mask or eye patch could help. That is what I am going to try.

Nikken has a magnetic sleep mask, and I have used it before. I wasn’t looking for improved vision at that time and I didn’t use it regularly, so I don’t know if it did anything or not. It is kind of heavy and I would sweat under it because it is warm here where I live in Georgia. This time I am going to make a lighter weight mask and put two Kenko Mini magnets in it, one for each eye, and see what happens. I don’t know if it will work or not, but I at least know that with magnets the worst that can happen is nothing.

If you have tried something like this then please let me know in a comment below how well it worked.

In went onto Amazon.com to see what kinds of magnetic insoles people were offering for sale there and found a few.

First is the Mag-Insole sold by Chinese Accupressure Magnetic Insoles. The description says that it has 16 magnets per pair, which means that there are only 8 discreet magnets on each insole. That leaves a lot of the surface of the insole without any magnetic coverage, which mean a lot of the bottom of your feet are not exposed to magnetic coverage. The Magnetic Foam Insoles from Austin Medical Equipment has the same small number of magnets.

The Magnetic Insoles by Dr. Bakst Magnetics didn’t say how many magnets are in their insoles, just that they have 2,000 gauss per insole. That doesn’t tell you a whole lot. A lot of companies will add the gauss strength of each magnet on the device and give you a total when they word it that way. That means that these insoles likely have something like 1 magnet in the center with a 2,000 gauss rating or 10 magnets spread around the insole each with a 200 gauss rating. It is also possible that the insole have several 2,000 gauss magnets on them. You just don’t know.

The magnetic insoles sold by Brands On Sale were a little more interesting. They have 5 magnets per insole that you can place in a variety of labeled locations on the insole depending on where your feet hurt. You can decide the 5 points that hurt the most and move the magnets to the correct place for the magnetic field to go to work. Still, only 5 magnets leaves even more of the surface without any magnetic coverage than the other brands did.

Nikken’s magnetic insoles, according to the literature, have 100% magnetic coverage on their surface. I couldn’t find anything that said exactly how many magnets are on each insole, but there are a lot. Someone once told me that it was 80+ magnets on the medium magnetic insole. I used to have a magnetic sensor disk that showed the magnets on the Nikken Magsteps or Magstrides but I never had the patience to sit and count each magnet that I could find. It would just take too long.

The magnets used in the Nikken Magsteps and Magstrides are all 450 gauss magnets. If you used the additive method to rate the gauss for the entire insole that would be 36,000 gauss. I think it is rather deceptive to go that route, so we’ll stick with saying that the entire surface is packed with 450 gauss magnets and leave it at that.

The other magnetic insoles also say that they provide passive massage or reflexology because they have bumps. From looking at the pictures of the products, Nikken’s Magsteps have a lot more bumps than the other products too. I actually had to wear my Magsteps with the smooth side toward my feet for the first year I had them because I found the bumps uncomfortable. I have since flipped that back over to the bumpy side and find them very comfortable now even when I’m on my feet all day.

Nikken has been making magnetic insoles, specifically the Magsteps, for more than 35 years. They know what they are doing, so they are the ones that I think highly enough to promote and sell on my website. You can click here to see more about the Magsteps and Magstrides magnetic insoles from Nikken.

If you use magnetic insoles, tell me what brand and what you think of them in a comment below. I’d love to hear your story.

Just over a week ago I wrote a post about cellphones, wi-fi, and EMF radiation. Please take a moment to read it as this post is an update to that one. I was motivated enough by what I read while getting information about wireless radiation to make some improvements in our environment for me and my family. I wanted to turn off our wireless network and use an air-tube headset for our cellphones.

First was to turn off the wireless part of our network router, but I immediately encountered an obstacle. We use our Wii to stream Netflix to our TV and the Wii does not directly support a wired network. We found a LAN adapter for the Wii on Amazon and it arrived yesterday. It was incredibly easy to install and change the Wii over to our wired network. With the last obstacle finally out of the way I disabled the wireless part of our network.

I immediately felt a change when I turned it off. I didn’t think that I was all that sensitive to the EMF noise but I am apparently sensitive enough to have noticed the change. What I really enjoyed was that my kids got along great for the rest of the day. No fussing and fighting. They even went to bed easy last night with none of the usual fooling around. That was worth the work right there. Today has been a great day for them so far too.

The second part was to get air-tube headsets for our cellphones. I had read plenty of bad reviews on Amazon that the sound quality with some of the air tubes was really bad. Well, they arrived today and I immediately had to try it out with my phone. I plugged them in and inserted the ear-buds into my ears. The fit snuggly and comfortably unlike a lot I had tried before. So far, so good. Then I called my father to see how an actual call would work. He said that he was able to hear me more clearly than he could with my old wire, and I could hear him very well too. My wife wanted to try hers out while she was driving to the spa to do a massage, so she called me from her car. Even with her windows open we could hear each other clearly and easily. Not very much of the wind noise came through at all. These things work great.

So, while wireless EMF is all around us, it is possible to reduce some of what we are exposed to at least while we are in our own homes.

In the other post I mentioned that a magnetic chair pad and a magnetic mattress pad can also help to deal with the effects of exposure to bad EMFs.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor nor a scientist. I don’t pretend to know everything about how EMF works and how it affects the body. I just know that many people do seem to be affected and by removing it, the problems seem to go away, as did the challenges with my kids.
