A Study of how Lactoferrin supplements may affect Osteoporosis

I received an email this morning about a new study reported in Osteoporosis International about Milk ribonuclease-enriched lactoferrin.  The conclusion of the study is that “R-ELF supplementation demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in bone resorption and increase in osteoblastic bone formation, to restore the balance of bone turnover within a short period”.  The English translation is that milk ribonuclease enriched Lactoferrin supplements reduce bone loss and increase bone formation to restore the normal balance within a short time.  That is very exciting news.

The study was done with postmenopausal women with osteoporosis and was conducted by a team of scientists that included Dr. A.S. Narain Naidu, who created Nikken’s Osteodenx and Lactoferrin supplements.
